Columbus, Oh hotels around Raging Rapids

indoor water park? Don't know the area well - heck I am not sure I know where it is. can't picture it from the map they have online.

Thinking about a long weekend but at $369/night right at the resort...

You mean "Fort Rapids" maybe? What about the Knight's Inn Motel right around the corner?

I haven't seen a "nice" Knights Inn in many, many years.

True also looked at getting a room without a package (unlike the first post) for the same weekend and the price is much better (youngest does not need a ticket to the water park as he is 3). Dome that way - the price is apprx $439 for the weekend and that includes the water park tickets for 3 of us for 2 days - much better price.

I will have to see if there are any Marriott properties in the area - like a Fairfield Inn... I still have a few points.

Looked at another section of the web site (their website needs some work) and there ARE other packages that a person does not know about till they try and reserve a room.

If you do not get a package deal from Fort Rapids - you are NOT guaranteed to be able to get into the water park. You MUST get a package - not even just a room would do. They have 2 person packages (since we don't need 4 passes to the water park) but those are smaller rooms.

I did eventually get a package with 4 passes - king bed for us and bunk beds for the kids - and 2 tv's - one for us and one for the kids. 4 passes and the room for 2 days/3nights for $417. About half price and not too terribly bad - as we can be in the water park from noon the first day to 10 PM on the day we check out.

Wife eventually called and made the reservation (we decided not to worry about the one 'extra' pass) and she was quoted a price lower than the $417 to $371...
