Athens, Ohio brew week July 13-19

Athens Ohio, home of Ohio University, is a nice town in the hills of Appalachia. They're having a brewfest July 13-19. Lots of stuff going on. Looks like a great event for beer/brewing enthusiasts.

O.U. my old stomping grounds. Lots of fun times there. I wish I could go to this, but alas I have grown up and have a family now. One of these days I'm going to make it back down there again and that town will never be the same.

I went there in 70-73 when it was a quite different place than it is now. My kid went there '99 to 2003, so we spent lots of time in town back then, ans still visit regularly.

I'm hoping to go there next week, depending on my customer needs. Toscano's down at the old train depot where the lumber company used to be is a great little restaurant. The campus is still a wonderful place to visit and there is a real microbrewery uptown.

Lams on East State is the best Chinese around, and the burrito buggy still lives!!!
