[INTERNET] for Davenport, IA area

I may ask this to be moved to the Midwest forum, but if someone knows a good place in the tech forums for this, by all means "hey mod" it.

Here's what I'd like to find out:

The best 'net for my buck! Anyone in Davenport, IA or even in the Midwest area that has opinions or hard data about the best internet to get when I return to the States, please post!

I had been using Mediacom DSL before I left, and it wasn't all that bad, but I hear a lot of tech friends complaining about it all the time. I don't want T5 or whatever else is the fastest of the fast (well, I *do* want it, but I can't afford it ). What I want is a stable net, with a decent speed, at a decent price.

Thanks

For the record Mediacom is not DSL

And I dont know who the DSL provider is in Dubuque but mediacom does have a forum with good techs in it right here on this site if you're having problems.

Traditionally if you're looking for speed and bandwidth mediacom is gonna be the way to go, That is dependent on who else is a provider in dubuque

For the record yer wrong though, Mediacom *does* offer DSL, I used it for a year or so. Maybe they don't offer it in Dubuque, but they do in Davenport.

I'll ask some friends in Davenport too, maybe they know some other good ones, I just thought maybe there was someone I've never heard of that might have something to offer.

Mediacom has NEVER offered DSL service. DSL service is solely used by telephone providers.

Definition: DSL or xDSL, is a family of technologies that provide digital data transmission over the wires of a local telephone network.

Mediacom has offered slower speeds, but since they use coax cable to transmit their services, it's impossible for them to have ever offered DSL service.

Come on, you know some people just use DSL for any broadband connection
