Since I wanted a static IP, I ordered the business FiOS, which is more pricey than the residential, but allows servers and offers an optional static IP.
The order was taken over the phone, and was very well organized. Took a while, due to the amount of information I was providing. Order went into the system and I was able to check the status online, which is a real plus!
The installer was great. He came out at 8:20am for an 8-5 appointment, and was very fast, considering he had to drop the fiber into the basement, install the ONT, wire two cat5 jacks, etc. When he tried to provision my line, they wouldn't because my ONT was a "612" and they told him only a "611" was compatible (that is questionable). But he drove to the shop and picked up the 611, and was back and swapped it out for the 612 in just a few minutes.
The only problem with the installation was that I had to call to get my own static IP information, since I was using my own router. Not really a big deal, but the voice tree on the tech support line is rather annoying.
The speeds are ridiculously fast. The latencies/routes I've seen so far are great (80ms to my VPN on the West Coast). Can't complain so far! I'll update in a couple weeks once I've had the service for a while.
